Description of the Our House animation

Curiousgirl introduces this animation by asking players if they want to grab their telescope and find out who comes to Parliament house.

This animation opens with two discs, containing symbolic representations, moving clock-wise in a circle, backed by a duotone image of Australia's Parliament House and the screen title 'Our house'. At the same time as the circles appear, the sound of clap sticks and didgeridoo are heard. The two discs are located at opposite positions on the circular path. One has an image representing Australia 's Parliament House and the other is a design representing an Aboriginal meeting.

As the two images rotate around the screen the text 'meeting place' appears in the centre of the screen. After a few seconds a third disc containing an image of members of parliament in the House of Representatives chamber appears at the same time as a speech is concluded. The central text changes to 'for politicians'.

After a few seconds a fourth disc containing an image of people in the foyer appears with the sound of a guide welcoming a group of visitors to Parliament House. The discs are arranged equally around the circular path and the central text changes to 'for the public'.

In a few seconds, a fifth disc containing an image of a media crew interviewing a politician appears and the central text changes to 'for the media'. At the same time a female news reporter introduces the top news story on a news program called PEO news hour.

Next a sixth disc containing an image of a demonstration outside Australia's Parliament House appears. The audio suggests an angry protest. The central text changes to 'for protestors'.

Following this a sixth disc containing an image of Crown Princess Mary of Denmark appears as a familiar Australian tune begins. The central text changes to 'for international guests'.

Finally, the central text fades out and the discs move off the screen and the background image of Parliament House lights up to full colour. The text 'Australia's Parliament House' appears and the audio fades to complete the animation.
