More Videos
With its own visual media production facility, the PEO will continue to produce short, online videos to help teachers and students understand how the Parliament works. This year, we aim to release new videos in the Online Video Series: About Parliament explaining the role of the Senate and the House of Representatives as well as a video about the forming of a new Parliament. The PEO will also start developing a new video series about the people in Parliament.
Teachers section update
The PEO will soon introduce a new teachers section to the website as well as a teacher's guide to the PEO Role-play. Lesson plans will be available that will use parliamentary concepts and processes to explore topics that can be applied to any school curriculum or integrated unit of inquiry. The lesson plans will involve the PEO role-play covering the process of law making, amendments, question time and committees, as well as other lessons dealing with the concepts surrounding parliament. Each lesson plan will have all the tools needed to deliver the lesson, including scripts, images, videos and diagrams.
