Description
This diagram illustrates federal law at work.
The federal Parliament makes the law and the federal Executive
puts the law into action, which results in federal services in the
community. For example:

the federal Executive through the Department of Defence, which results
in federal services such as peace-keeping services.
- Education law is created by the federal Parliament, and put into action
by the federal Executive through the Department of Education, Science
& Training, which results in federal services such as school education.
- Health law is created by the federal Parliament, and put into action
by the federal Executive through the Department of Health & Ageing,
which results in federal services such as safe medicines.
- Environmental law is created by the Federal Parliament, and put into
action by the federal Executive through the Department of Environment
& Heritage, which results in federal services such as parks and reserves.
- Tourism law is created by the Federal Parliament, and put into action
by the federal Executive through the Department of Tourism, which results
in federal services such as travel information.
