Local councils make the law, council
executives put the law into action, which results in local
services in the community. For example:
- Traffic control by-law is created by local councils, and
put into action by council executives through the Office of Traffic
and Parking Control, which results in local services such as parking
inspectors.
- Waste management by-law is created by local councils, and
put into action by council executives through the Office
of Waste Management, which results in services such as rubbish collection.
- Town planning by-law is created by local councils, and
put into action by council executives through the Office
of Town Planning, which results in local services such as building guidelines.
- Domestic animals by-law is created by local councils, and
put into action by council executives through the Office of Domestic
Animal control, which results in local services such as pet licensing.
