Description

This diagram illustrates a scenario of managing Australian law.

The Parliament passes a law prohibiting travellers from taking Australian flora on aeroplanes.

Customs officials (as officers of the Executive) administer the law by searching travellers' bags and detaining offenders. Police lay charges.

The Judiciary reads the Act and examines the process of detaining the offender including hearing evidence from the police. The judge determines whether the law has been broken.
