This diagram illustrates the role of executive government in turning policy into law.
Executive government decides policy, drafts and introduces bills to the Parliament.
Bills are considered by the Parliament in the House of Representatives and the Senate, and if passed, are approved by the Governor-General.
Bills are now Acts of Parliament, which are laws administered by government departments.
