This diagram illustrates the parliamentary committee process.

This diagram shows that a parliamentary committee is made up of government and opposition members from either the House of Representatives or the Senate.

Examples of topics that parliamentary committees might investigate include driver fatigue, Junk Food Bill 2007 or international treaties. Membership of any committee might comprise of members from the House of Representatives and the Senate from both government and opposition.
