How to draft your own bill
This template is a guided writing activity. It demonstrates what a bill looks like and the sorts of information that it contains. Amongst other things, the template encourages students to think about the title of the bill, its duration and how it will be paid for. Ask your students what they think Australia needs, and then show them how to write a bill as a solution to a problem using this template.

How to accept a bill
This template is a guided speech-writing activity. It demonstrates how a member of parliament might write a speech which gives support to a bill. Amongst other things, it encourages the speaker to state the benefits of the bill.
How to amend a bill
This template is a guided speech-writing activity. It demonstrates how a member of parliament might write a speech in which an amendment is proposed. Amongst other things it encourages the speaker to propose alternative action and to propose new wording for the bill.
How to reject a bill
This template is a guided speech-writing activity. It demonstrates how a member of parliament might write a speech against a bill. Amongst other things, it encourages the speaker to state the problem with the bill and to propose alternative action.
